My first client at what would become agency.com was Toyota, art directing and producing a CD-ROM of their cars and trucks. Working at agency.com allowed me to advance my work ethic gained from startups, and expand on systems-thinking in creative. Since then I have worked with a range of clients, from building Paulaner N.A.’s first website, to designing and producing corporate and consumer sites for Sprint, Qwest (U S WEST), Ford Motor, Microsoft and Vail Resorts, among others.

Brett Phares is a creative director with 20 years experience in interactive media, creating some interesting projects for Sprint and Sharp Electronics, among others.
I’m one of the most creative people you’ve never met, due in part to the stealthy startups I have been involved with, and my work as a full time educator. As an active creative director and designer, I have produced work in a variety of environments, from small boutique studios to large advertising agencies, software startups to in-house creatives.
I have been at the forefront of digital media technology, being one of 200 to early-adopt what would become Adobe PhotoShop bundled with BarneyScan film scanners; evangelizing FutureSplash (now Adobe Flash) as an option to have control over fonts on the web; early involvement in interactive TV with Microsoft and a number of Baby Bells. My natural ability to work with emerging technologies combined with an informed and refined sense of aesthetics has made me expert in media applications found in a design studio: in print, more broadly in interactive media, and specifically game development and 3D production. This ability allows me to instinctually generate solid ideas within project scope, and successfully produce them through strong relationships in business and engineering.
My success with large and small companies, in industries such as luxury destination and technology, is found in the research I pay to creative briefs and the innovatory prototypes that result, bridging blue sky concepts with sometimes just-over-the-next-hill technology within scope and budget, for a tangible sense of possibility and excitement. None of it would be possible without the ability to spot and nurture talent, opening eyes and skills to the next step. If you are looking for someone to help stir creative mojo,
